Cherise has studied the role of Mozart’s Donna Elvira with Sherrill MILNES in Prague (2015), the role of Mozart’s Despina with Janine REISS in Paris (2010), Bel Canto repertoire at the Juilliard School in New York with Corradina CAPORELLO (2011), and art song with Gary MATTHEWMAN (2015) and Christopher GLYNN(2016) in London. As a winner of the Grand Concours de Chant (2010) Cherise was consequently invited to perform Offenbach operetta in the roles of Olympia, Gabrielle, and Eurydice with Opéra du Périgord in France. Cherise graduated with honors in 2009 from the Butler School of Music with a Bachelor of Music. While in her final year, she was invited to perform the role of the Queen of the Night in Mexico with the opera school production of The Magic Flute. The Royal College of Music afforded Cherise the opportunity to perform in a premiere opera by Alex Paxton called the Bel and the Dragon where she interpreted the role of thePriestess (2016). Other role studies included the Amadeus Opernensemble where she performed Mozart’sPapagena and Mme Silberklang in Salzburg.

Cherise was born in New Mexico where she eventually became a member of the Santa Fe Opera Apprentice Program in 2012. She studied at the Butler School of Music and the Royal College of Music, graduating with Distinction. Cherise won the Grand Concours de Chant for French opera and mélodies, and consequently was invited by Opéra Perigord to perform Offenbach operetta roles Eurydice (Orphée aux Enfers), Gabrielle (La Vie Parisienne) and Olympia (Les contes d'hoffmann) in France.

In 2015 she sang the role of Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) with Sherrill Milnes directing in the Prague Summer Nights Festival premiere season. Cherise sang the tile role in Handel’s Alcina with the Ryedale Festival in 2016. Previous engagements include Lucia (Rape of Lucretia) and Lisette (La Rondine) with the “Stars of Tomorrow” at the Santa Fe Opera and cover roles Adina (L’elixir d’amore) and Musetta (La Bohème) with the Belle-Ile-en-Mer Festival in France. She has sung under distinguished conductors including Lionel Friend, James Burton and John Nardolillo

Cherise is a keen recitalist, and has collaborated on several occasions with contemporary composers Isabelle Aboulker and Naji Hakim. In 2014 she sang Hakim’s Magnificat with French violinist Cyril Ghestem. She received the prestigious Diplôme Supérieur de Concertiste in 2012 from the Ecole Normale in Paris and was given 1st prize unanimously by the jury for her Diplôme de Exécution.
